Our families have been doing this for over 50 years, we were the first ophthalmic opticians in the Rhondda Valleys when Mr Eric Davies opened his original practices in Porth and Treorchy.
Optometry is however an ever developing profession and our development can never stop. As Optometrists we are required to keep abreast of new developments in care and new ways of delivering our services to you. We are always looking ahead t to implement new technologies to enhance our ability to detect eye disease in its earliest stages
Our ethos has always been to invest in new technology to aid us in diagnosing and treating your eye conditions. We have a huge portfolio of equipment across our practices that help with the detection of various eye diseases as well as to fit more complicated contact lens types
A sense of belonging to our communities is important to us. Most of our Optometrists being born and raised in the local community (apart from their college years) and those who have moved here now live in the area. We often see those people we have grown up with and we are hugely proud to say that we are looking after four generations of some families concurrently
Our Optometrists to achieve further qualifications and we have a wide range of skills to provide all kinds of enhanced care such as the Welsh Low Vision Service, Welsh Eye Care Examination, many of our Optometrists teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate level at Cardiff University and have lectured on both the local and national stage. Our ethos is to deliver the most modern eye care in a caring family environment.
We recognise many people can be apprehensive about having an eye test and we want to create as comfortable an environment as possible in which to look after you
Our latest development is our partnership with local Ophthalmologists thereby providing a fuller range of services than ever before.
