One of the first digital fundus cameras in Wales was purchased by Davies and Jones back in the early 1990's and have kept our technology investment going since.
Currently we use:
OPTOMAP is one of the latest breakthroughs in eye imaging. It uses dual laser scanning that gives us the widest image possible of the inside of your eyes. This allows us to detect and to monitor in ways never previously possible conditions such as retinal detachments, retinitis pigmentosa, melanomas as well as more ordinary eye changes
OCT is very much like ultrasound scanning but uses light instead of sound. It is instrumental in the diagnosis and treatment of macular degeneration and is fast becoming the go to technique in glaucoma monitoring
STEREODISC PHOTOGRAPHY is a set of 3D photographs that are usually taken of the optic nerve. Over time these allow changes due to glaucoma to become detectable sooner than if these were not taken.
