Have a delightful, not a frightful, Halloween!

With Halloween around the corner, many people are putting the finishing touches on their costumes. Fancy dress can be a lot of fun – but it shouldn’t put your health at risk.

Many people use novelty contact lenses as part of their Halloween costume. As long as you get your lenses from a registered optician who has fitted the lenses for you, these can be a wonderful addition to your Halloween look! But when people get their lenses from other sources, things can get scary.

Contact lenses bought online are not made to measure, and may be made of materials that aren’t suitable to be worn on the eye. These lenses can lead to eye infections and possibly even loss of sight.

If you would like lenses for Halloween, we recommend that you make an appointment with your local optician to make sure that the lenses you use are safe and so that your optician can teach you how to look after your lenses.
